Michigan Football Club

The best players.

The best training environment.

The best competition.

Michigan Football Club (MFC) was established in 2007 by the Bloomfield Force and Michigan Jaguars Football Clubs. This first class partnership was formed for the purpose of creating top level tournament teams with the best players, the best training environment, and the best competition. In 2008, MFC raised the standards even higher by building partnerships with Canton Celtic Soccer Club and Think Detroit PAL. This alliance has combined to encourage and help players of all levels to attain their individual goals and maximize their potential. These four clubs have an extremely strong recreational base of players and provide coaching education to their volunteer members. All four clubs have powerful travel/premier programs that provide the elite players from the recreational programs to filter into their existing travel programs. Michigan Football Club has been formed in order to provide the elite players from within our own travel program structure to combine and form our Academy teams.

The Michigan Football Club model will provide elite level soccer players with professional coaching, a model training program, state-of-the-art facilities and an optimum competition environment. Our ambition at Michigan Football Club is to identify the elite players from within our own clubs and place them in our model of development.

An additional goal for MFC is to identify players from within the inter city of Detroit and place them into our program. To ensure that we are developing our most talented pool of players, MFC has established a scholarship fund, for the sole use of the Academy program. In order to maintain and expand our scholarship fund we have secured the services of Premier Athletic Advertising, which specializes in youth sports fundraising, advertising and marketing.

Questions and Answers

Q What is Michigan Football Club?
A Novi Jags and Bloomfield Force started a partnership by combining top players in age groups U13-U17 (5 girls & 5 boys teams) to go to top level tournaments and get exposure to college coaches (U16 and above).  Canton Celtic has joined the partnership for the 2008/2009 season.

Q Why we are striking up a partnership?
A To provide our players with exposure to large tournaments, receive a high level of coaching and to play with other strong players. For our U16 and above we hope to get exposure to colleges and get players into college soccer programs.

Q How will the Michigan Football Club team get selected?
A There will be no tryouts (except for the U18 girls MFC team). Coaches from all participating clubs will submit player recommendations. The clubs will come together for pool training sessions and the tournament squad will be selected thereafter.
